Everything works like saving throws; low is good, roll over. Base attack bonus is next to Paralyse, starts at 12, only goes down for fighters. Save against you HP (add your Con mod) each time you get hit or die. HP starts at 0, every time you take damage you add to that number.

Everyone is a Fighter with 1 skill point per level. Magic is something other people do, but spells can hitch a ride in your brain. They want to be cast.
